Summary: Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing, the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admissions leads the undergraduate admissions team and serves as a member of the enrollment management leadership team.
Work Performed: Serves as a member of the enrollment management leadership team and attends weekly leadership meetings. Hires, trains, and manages all undergraduate recruitment staff, including enrollment counselors, assistant directors, campus visit coordinator, and oversees the campus ambassador program. Develop goals, in conjunction with the Vice President for Enrollment Management, for applications, visits, completed applications, and deposited students to meet new student enrollment goals for freshman and transfers and determines final eligibility for admissions per university policies. Collaborates with Marketing and the Vice President of Enrollment Management to create and execute marketing plans to support new student inquiries, applicants, admits, and deposited students. Coordinate all recruitment travels and other college fairs/programs as well as out-of-state recruitment events (receptions, conferences, church events, etc.) for undergraduate enrollment counselors and staff and travel as needed to reach goals which could include holidays and/or weekends. Work closely with the Department of Athletics and coaches to recruit student-athletes. Model and expect outstanding customer service to all prospective students and families. Use data and technology to target recruitment efforts. Convene and lead regular staff meetings, maintaining a culture of collaboration, transparency, and excellence. Develop and execute on-campus and off-campus events (Saturday Sessions, CSU One Day, First Look, Accepted Student Weekend, Registration, Orientation, etc.) to increase the visibility of Charleston Southern University and increase new student enrollment. Assign responsibilities of assistant directors and undergraduate enrollment counselors regarding on-campus and off-campus admissions/recruitment and/or other events deemed by the Vice President of Enrollment Management. Assist the Executive Director of Enrollment Analytics with updating communication plans as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree and several years of experience will also be considered.
Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience in admissions/marketing/recruitment, 2-3 years of which should be leadership experience in admissions, preferably in a Christian, liberal arts institution. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work effectively independently and as part of a team. Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new computer software systems quickly and effectively. Knowledge of Slate CRM is a plus. Well-developed time management and organizational skills. This position requires an articulate, confident individual who deals effectively with internal and external constituencies in both one-on-one and group situations. This position requires evening and weekend work, and extensive telephone, email, texting, virtual and face-to-face meetings.
