Marshfield Clinic Health System is seeking a Physician Advisor. The right physician will be BC/BE in their field of specialty and will be responsible for completing detailed reviews of complex patient cases to ensure an appropriate plan of care and resource management. Other duties include enhanced utilization review, comprehensive management of denials and appeals, effective partnership with Clinical Documentation Specialists and HIM, effective partnership with Care Management and Social Work, expertise in insurance regulation and compliance, and availability for provider education.

As the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) physician advisor, the PA will function as a liaison between the CDI professional, HIM, and the hospital's medical staff to facilitate accurate and complete documentation for coding and abstracting of clinical data, capture of severity, acuity, and risk of mortality, in addition to DRG assignment.

The Physician Advisor will spend about 50% of their time in this role and the other 50% of their time in a clinical role.
