As a thought leader and strategic advisor to executive leadership, the Executive Director of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) will identify opportunities and lead the execution of transactions and growth initiatives that align with UCSF Health's strategic plan. Reporting to the Chief Partnerships & Growth Officer, this role involves overseeing the identification, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships. This leader will conduct thorough due diligence, financial analysis, and negotiation processes to ensure transactions align with strategic objectives and financial targets.
In addition to building and nurturing strong relationships with new and existing clients within relevant industry segments, this role requires expertise in healthcare mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships. Strong analytical, negotiation, and implementation skills are essential. Responsibilities also include identifying and influencing potential customers to generate new business opportunities and collaborating with a network of strategic alliance partners to identify joint business opportunities that increase customer value and drive revenue growth.
The Executive Director of M&A will contribute to long-term business development, network development, and affiliation strategies. This includes leading M&A and strategic growth initiatives, formulating network growth and portfolio diversification strategies, conducting financial and market due diligence, and providing sourcing and execution support. This role will involve active participation in various partnership and joint venture boards, including serving as a member and/or on committees, contributing to strategic decision-making, and ensuring partnership/joint venture alignment with UCSF Health's goals and values. The Executive Director will act as a liaison between the partnership/joint venture boards and UCSF Health's executive leadership, ensuring clear communication and strategic alignment. Close collaboration with executive leadership is essential to drive growth, expand market presence, and improve access to care.
Participates with senior management in developing the financial, programmatic, and operational long term strategies for business development, network development, and affiliation activities for the medical center and / or health system.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $179,800 - $436,400 (Annual Rate).
