Provides oversight and leadership for STEM Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program (COFSP) and activities relating to all scholarships for the College. Organizes a set of activities that supports the recruitment and enrollment of high-quality STEM students for the COFSP, such as leading outreach efforts and aligning those with the scholarship program. Ensures the day-to-day functionality and assists administrators in the general oversight of the assigned area?s operations and services as related to any assigned program, initiative, or objective. Works under general supervision and may make some work procedural decisions which do not contravene policies; generally, determines work sequences (which task comes first) within any department/divisional guidelines.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Ensures the day-to-day functionality and assists administrators in the general oversight of the assigned area?s operations and services as related to any assigned program, initiative, or objective. Directs and/or coordinates daily tasks related to one or more assigned components of a department?s/division?s overall programs and/or services.
Prepares reports and other information/documentation to assist the supervisor in strategic planning of the assigned area.
Regularly communicates with supervisor and other staff, including student workers, as required or needed in the completion of daily tasks in support of the department?s/division?s overall goals and objectives.
Prepares and maintains accurate records of daily tasks in accordance with the department?s/division?s (or University?s) policies and procedures and assures timely communication with supervisor, staff, and students where appropriate.
Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties; participates in staff development activities; attends meetings, conferences, and other events. Performs other related duties as assigned and/or required.
Manages the College of STEM?s participation in the Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program (COFSP) and its key components: presentations in schools, Algebra II to pre-calculus summer bridge program, scholarship recruitment and awards, cohort meetings, mentoring and tutoring program, and either research projects (team presentation in YSU QUEST, STEM Showcase, and the annual Northeast Ohio COFSP spring research conference) or experiential learning experiences. Such activity will include: working with the COFSP faculty management team; evaluating current COFSP awardees for continuation in the program; doing requisitions and generating and processing contracts with respect to appropriate budgets; working with the COFSP Grant Administrator to complete reporting activity to the State and other agencies as required; and interfacing with counterparts at Northeast Ohio COFSP consortia partners.
Coordinates the collection of STEM scholarship applications and awarding of STEM scholarships to new and existing STEM College students. Responsible for keeping STEM scholarship information updated on-line. Interfaces with the YSU Foundation and the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships to determine availability of funding.
Coordinates with STEM departments for awarding of college and departmental scholarships to ensure that all scholarships are awarded according to the requirements of the program or the instructions of the donor. Coordinates all aspects of the STEM Honors Convocation; ensures scholarship recipients are recognized as appropriate.
Serves as the primary liaison for the STEM Student Organizations. Organize a monthly meeting with the Organizations to provide an oversite of their activities, such as fund raising, guest speakers, dissemination of information about events and keeping an updated list of active organizations and their leaders. As appropriate, utilizes organizations to support the College?s participation in campus and community outreach events. Manages the operations of the STEM Leadership Society; provides leadership in the recruitment and selection process; organizes student interviews, and processes acceptance and rejection notices; assists in the activities of the SLS throughout the academic year, providing staff support to the faculty advisor and student leaders.
Prepares and submits articles based on scholarship awareness, student organization activities, etc. for the social media platform.
Other Functions and Responsibilities: Assists with training new hires.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday-Friday; schedule may be adjusted to meet program needs, including occasional weekends.
Supervision Exercised: May exercise supervision over student employees.

Minimum Qualifications: At least a bachelor?s degree in a related field; one year of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: A master?s degree in a relevant discipline; demonstrated leadership ability.
