Position Information: The Circulation and Reserves Services Supervisor is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of the circulation/reserves units within the Access Services department. The Supervisor acts as the functional expert in overseeing and managing employees performing complex duties requiring point of contact decision making. The Supervisor is responsible for exercising judgment in interpreting existing guidelines to solve problems and optimize systems to support developing patron needs. The Supervisor is also responsible for developing and implementing policies at a unit level and for advising leadership on recommended guidelines and policies that affect the wider library. The Supervisor is responsible for the unit staff and student supervision, training, development and performance of the unit. Responsible for collaborating, setting goals, ensuring accountability and stewardship of the unit.
The full salary range for the Circulation and Reserves Services Supervisor is $59,000 - $103,400 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Requirements: Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required
Knowledge enabling the performance of a full range of specialized duties in a functional area or specialized subject matter field; advanced problem solving and decision-making ability.
Effective supervisory and organizational leadership skills.
Ability to accurately apply a wide variety of policies and procedures.
Ability to effectively delegate and hold supervised staff accountable for successful completion of assignments.
Ability to display initiative and remain flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to proactively manage employee performance, establish goals for supervised staff and work continuously to promote achievement of the established goals.
Ability to perform accurate, detailed work.
Preferred Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of library data transformation techniques and software tools. Recommends new technology as needed.
Familiarity with content management systems and web page development.
Knowledge of and ability to effectively use an integrated library system (ILS).
Familiarity with streaming technologies.
