Wellesley College, a premier liberal arts and sciences college for women located twelve miles west of Boston, invites applications for the position of Associate Director of Admission. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team responsible for recruiting students through various on- and off-campus programs and events, and for enrolling the next generation of women leaders. General admission responsibilities include travel for high school visits, parent student gatherings, and college fairs; group presentations; reading and evaluation of applications for admission.
Primary responsibilities include working with the Director of Admission to provide leadership in the supervision and execution of the Admission Office’s on-campus programs and events. This position oversees and directs on-campus programming to develop prospective student interest in Wellesley, encouraging admitted students to enroll at Wellesley. This position is responsible for regularly analyzing the needs and effectiveness of on-campus program efforts and may need to conduct quantitative analysis in support of these efforts. This position serves as the primary liaison to other campus offices and staff that support, or with whom the Admission Office coordinates, on-campus events including the Events Office, Summer Programs, and the Provost’s Office. This person is responsible for supervising and managing the efforts of the student ambassador program and the management of the office’s reception area. Travel, plus evening and weekend hours, expected.
Position Responsibilities:
Coordinates and executes a comprehensive on-campus programs and virtual events plan for the Office of Admission with the goal of increasing visitors to campus and having more students engage with our virtual programming.
Develops and organizes robust yield programming on-campus and virtually with the goal of reaching more admitted students. Works with Alumnae Association on hosting location specific yield events.
Reviews applications and coordinates review of assigned geographic regions, serving as an experienced reader who assists less experienced readers in evaluating applicants for Wellesley. Serve also as a resource for readers with questions about applicants from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences
Conducts extensive recruitment travel, engaging prospective students and strengthening partnerships with high school counselors and community-based organizations
Communicate the benefits of a Wellesley College education virtually and through on- and off-campus information sessions
Performing other duties as assigned by the Dean of Admission and Financial Aid or Director of Admission
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises and manages two to three assistant directors
Basic Qualifications ?
Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or enrollment in master’s degree or post-baccalaureate certificate program preferred.
Minimum five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience in higher education, secondary school, non-profit organization or related experience is preferred. Familiarity with and support of the mission of a selective, liberal arts college is essential. Candidates should demonstrate organizational skills related to program/project management; be able to communicate effectively, with a variety of constituents including prospective students, parents, alumnae, faculty, school and community-based organization counselors; and work well both independently and in teams. Regular evening and weekend work will be required. Must be available to travel out of state several weeks annually.

Knowledge of college admission and financial aid process or related expertise
Ability to articulate the benefits of a liberal arts education for women

Strong computer skills and literacy; experience with Technolutions Slate preferred
Valid driver’s license required.
