As part of the graduate admission team, this position recruits prospective graduate students in Middlesex and Worcester Counties as part of the Graduate Teacher Education Program Emergency Licensure Regional Center. The Counselor is responsible for helping to support the goals of the regional center, support prospective students who wish to enroll in a program to obtain licensure and meet with prospective students at satellite locations in Middlesex and Worcester Counties and also through field-based recruiting. The Counselor provides support to the Regional Center Team, Graduate and Professional Studies, and Graduate Admission Office, primarily to recruit and support prospective students along the application pipeline and meet enrollment targets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Developing and executing recruitment strategies and activities in the defined geographical area under the supervision of the Director of Graduate Admission.
Working with prospective students and applicants from diverse cultures via email, phone, and in-person to provide exceptional service.
Advising prospective students to determine their educational goals and actively guide them through each phase of the admissions process.
Monitor application files to ensure admissions requirements are met.
Creating and/or maintaining prospective candidate records.
Collaborating with the graduate admission team, graduate director, and faculty to ensure a seamless process for applicants and admitted students.
Assisting with the enrollment process.
Representing graduate programs at employment, recruitment, and graduate school fairs in the defined geographical location.
Helping to recruit for events including Open House, Graduate Speaker series, and conferences.
Coordinating activities for recruitment programming and outreach strategies.
Education & Experience
A Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
