RESPONSIBILITIES
The Advisor will provide advice and/or perform valuations on a wide range of real estate and property interests in a timely and cost-efficient manner. He or she will be required to provide advice to clients, client representatives and lawyers on valuation reports prepared by third parties. The position requires active participation and accreditation in one or more of the applicable professional association(s) such as:
The Advisor will be expected to promote and develop relationships with lawyers and other professionals who either directly or indirectly assists in providing dispute resolution services for the purpose of enhancing the Companyâ™s products and services and develop new and additional business.
The Senior Consultant (the âœAdvisorâ) has advanced knowledge and experience in the application of appraisal techniques, methodologies, procedures and professional standards in or more specific areas of valuation and would be considered the company expert in that area. He or she will be expected to project a professional image to all clients and client representatives, lawyers, arbiters, planners, engineers and other professionals throughout the assignment.
Research and assess information on hundreds of properties across Canada.
Construct financial models including discounted cash flow utilizing ARGUS software.
Research benchmark rates of return, including cap rates and discount rates.
Inspect properties and interview market participants each week.
Prepare highest and best use land and property studies.
Confirm the characteristics of different property types and ensure the correct property classification. § Work as part of a team on client engagements on a portfolio of properties.
Provide training and mentorship for new consultants.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelorâ™s degree, preferable in finance, business, urban studies or economics.
At a minimum, this position requires a basic understanding of property law in terms of lease agreements, mortgages, title registration, easements and other types of limited property interests, with some understanding of expropriation proceedings and other types of judicial processes and tribunals.
Strong communications skill both written and oral.
Excellent command of the English language.
A valid driverâ™s license.
