Detailed Description: The Assistant Director of International Business Programs is exclusively responsible for the development and/or execution of 1) international business academic programs. 2) Student International Business Council student consulting club, and, 3) assisting duties to facilitate the growth of Ahlers as an academic center. Significant effort will be made to facilitate experiential learning opportunities for students in the area of international business, the development of international case studies, faculty publishing, and through the cultivation and dissemination of company consulting projects related to export and international trade opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises for the economic benefit of the San Diego region. International travel and working nights/weekends may be required from time to time. Duties and Responsibilities:
International Business Academic Programs Support
Responsible for planning and executing academic support, conferences, databases for faculty research, and speaker series.
Collaborate with faculty to develop and implement databases that are required for faculty research programs. Set up access and security for those databases.
Plan, execute and advertise a series of academic speaker series/workshops to be held bi-monthly. Solicit nomination for speakers from faculty and publicize a schedule through KSB and other universities.
Plan and execute academic conferences.
Identify and recruit research sponsors
Manage and execute an annual in-person and quarterly online advisory board meetings
Support the selection of locations and companies for overseas study programs.
International Business Outreach Support
In collaboration with the Marketing and Recruitment team, create and execute a comprehensive marketing plan (social media, website, event sponsorship opportunities) to attract new clients, highlight clients' experiences and build brand awareness of Ahlers.
Collaborate with partners such as the World Trade Center - San Diego, The Brink and USD's alumni network to create a pipeline of company candidates.
Manage the client company application process and support pairing client companies with case-based learning opportunities within Knauss School of Business courses.
Develop a system to track program outcomes and relevant metrics through consistent client follow up and management of CRM database.
Identify new opportunities for community collaboration.
Act as the primary resource for all grant and externally funded opportunities and developments within the International Business community. Identify and disseminate information regarding IB related initiatives at the state and local level, U.S. Commercial Service, Ex-Im Bank, etc. Research potential funding sources.
Guide participating companies through the STEP and ICEP funding application process.
Student International Business Council (SIBC) Support:
Manage and maintain the external operations of the SIBC through promotion of real-world experiences, leadership development and global impact for students.
Meet regularly with external stakeholders of the SIBC to initiate new projects and endeavors consistent with the mission of the SIBC-including donors for the SIBC.
Communicate and coordinate with the equivalent counterparts at SIBC-affiliated universities (currently Benedictine College and Notre Dame University).
Meet regularly with the Faculty Advisor of SIBC to coordinate planning, strategy, provide updates on progress of the SIBC, etc.
Initiate and manage real-world projects (e.g., consulting) with 8-12 client businesses for international business projects per year. Design scope of work documents for each student project.
Attend business community events to promote SIBC and encourage participation by new client companies. Exercise self-initiative by continuously analyzing day-to-day operations of the SIBC.
Attend SIBC student meetings as needed and meet with student teams to review project deliverables and assess progress on the project schedule.
Design and manage the collection of data (surveys and evaluations) to assess program success, outcomes and community impact, identifying areas for modification.
Assist in developing an alumni network by working with the International Business Council (IBC) to promote alumni networking for current SIBC students and encouraging the growth and development of a robust alumni network.
Oversee travel logistics and accompany students on domestic and/or international travel to conferences, universities, classes, programs and events.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in business or related field of study from an accredited college or university
3 years of experience in international business, international affairs, academic program management, and/or related topics
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university
3+ years experience in international business, international affairs, academic program management or related topics within a higher education setting
Understanding of the regional incubator network, international trade and investment and export assistance programs (national and regional)
Second language proficiency

In addition, the Knauss School of Business offers two different compressed work schedule options following a 9/75 structure in which employees have 1 to 1.5 days off over every two-week period as well as a hybrid option for those positions that can complete some work remotely.
The salary range provided in this posting reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual compensation offered or earned is dependent on experience, education and other factors including departmental budget.
