DESCRIPTION
Under supervision, assists with diagnostic trouble-shooting, repair and maintenance of sophisticated and complex electronic, electro-mechanical and mechanical biomedical and laboratory equipment. Examples include ventilators, surgical lasers, patient monitoring systems and other microprocessors, microcomputers and minicomputer based instrumentation. Repairs and maintains other non-direct patient care equipment. Assists with evaluation of new, proposed and existing equipment and related maintenance programs making recommendations for changes. Performs acceptance inspection of new biomedical equipment and ensures equipment meets manufacturers' specifications for safe and proper use. Completes purchase requisitions for parts and supplies. Contributes to continuous quality improvement projects and activities. Performs other related duties as assigned. Fulfills team roles as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
College level or equivalentelectronics training and experience.
Mechanical, electromechanical and electronic skills, including ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics, perform electrical, electromechanical and mechanical assembly and repair.
General knowledge of medical equipment.
Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Healthcare Environment Experience.
Equipment manufacturer training certifications.
Associate's degree in electronics.
Experience in medical equipment repair and maintenance.
Ability to communicate with staff and vendors regarding equipment issues with both verbal and written communication methods.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Flexible to work alternative shifts, be available on a paid standby basis for emergency repair calls on nights, weekends and holidays, and work overtime for special projects and emergency repairs.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act
Annual Full Pay Range: $76,149 - $94,691 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $36.47 - $45.35
