DESCRIPTION

Under general direction from the Director of Clinical Services and Executive Director - the Organ Clinical Supervisor provides oversight of programs and staff supervision for clinical departments within Lifesharing. Oversight includes managing daily operations of services related to deceased organ donation, including, but not limited to; physiologic management of deceased donors, surgical recovery and preservation, referral response and ensuring adequate donor supplies. Ensures adequate staffing and on-call response for their team-members tasked with managing deceased donor recoveries, assisting local transplant programs on fly-outs, living donors and import kidney pumping. Ensures that all referral response metrics are met and that all available organs are recovered safely and packaged for transplant following guidelines established by applicable regulatory bodies. The Organ Clinical Supervisor is responsible for ensuring Lifesharing meets benchmarks for donation rates and transplantation rates through effective monitoring, data assessment and change management. The Organ Clinical Supervisor (Clinical Educator) will also serve as a clinical resource for the tissue team when their expertise is also applicable to tissue operations.

Acts as clinical expert regarding organ donor management and the surgical recovery and preservation of organs intended for transplant. Assists the Director of Clinical Services and other senior leaders in assuring clinical staff are competent through robust training during initial onboarding, and continuous training that includes facilitating annual competencies. The Organ Clinical Supervisor will hold regular team meetings and one-on-one meetings with the staff they supervise. The Organ Clinical Supervisor will complete and maintain all documents related to team-member training, performance evaluations and meeting minutes.

The Organ Clinical Supervisor (Clinical Educator) will provide guidance and oversight of all documentation of training at Lifesharing. The Clinical Educator will develop and deliver clinical didactic training for the organ and tissue teams as directed by the Director of Tissue Operations, Organ Clinical Director, and Director of Strategic Partnerships. They will serve as a consultant for other leaders when developing and improving other trainings and education that are non-clinical. The Clinical Educator will be responsible for scheduling and maintaining documentation for ongoing training, including, but not limited to, webinars, conferences and annual competencies.

The Organ Clinical Supervisor is expected to take Administrator-On-Call (AOC) shifts with the responsibility of supporting clinical staff via phone, electronic communication and being physically onsite at donor institutions to provide direct supervision. The AOC will respond in real-time to all questions and provide support. The AOC will facilitate connections to obtain resources needed for the organ clinical team. When functioning as AOC, the Organ Clinical Supervisor will provide supervision of staff members reporting to other managers and supervisors, and will provide guidance and support for their roles. The AOC will report any performance issues to the appropriate supervisor when they arise, and participate in daily huddle calls as well as weekly AOC meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcareadministration or related area and / orequivalent combination of experience /training.

• Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.

• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.

• Five (5) years ICU experience and/or three (3) years Organ Procurement Coordinator experience.

• Proven experience with employee supervision, charge nurse, or team lead.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Must have decision making, problem solving and prioritization skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with developing or delivering clinical education.
• CPTC certified.
• Lean Six Sigma training at Yellow-Belt level or higher.
