Student Success System Analyst 8035BR Provost University Advising Office
Detailed Job Description This position is designed to assist the University Advising Office with the continued refinement and configuration of technology and software used for student success initiatives, including EAB's Starfish Student Success Platform. Starfish is a web-based tool that allows an instructor to communicate via an academic alert directly with a student when they are concerned about their course progress and/or want to share feedback. it also provides a web-based scheduling tool for students and advisors.
This position will work closely with the associate director of the University Advising Office.
Major Responsibilities:
Document current and future administrative processes related to student success software to ensure business continuity
Prepare and maintain software administrator guide for UAO team
Document technical and end-user processes for reference/training
Continuously refine and develop training materials and methods for faculty and advisors (presentations, web documents, videos, live demos, etc.) and prepare Starfish related communications
Maintain the RIT Starfish site with time-sensitive updates and user step-by-step guides
Investigate, troubleshoot and prepare individual responses to 'help' questions and issues from RIT users
Assist with marketing and promotional materials for end users
Prepare communications for campus community related to systems upgrades, outages, etc.Configure and maintain components of the Starfish system & reporting processes
Update, configure, monitor, and maintain Starfish as charged by associate director, including building new roles,, progress surveys, and other system components
Test new functionality in multiple environments
Review vendor communications regarding upcoming enhancements and assist associate director to prepare
Maintain templates for system communications to instructors, advisors, and students (reminders, alert notifications, meeting notifications)
Communicate with EAB to report and monitor issues
Perform all start and end of term maintenance
Partner with associate director, ITS, OFS and Starfish to update integration files
Assist with Starfish Data & Reporting
Attended bi-weekly webinars by vendor
Run end of term reporting, including vendor provided macros
Assist with preparing end of term college data and distribution
Assist with development of dashboard or other University data reporting features

Department/College Description The University Advising Office leads RITs undergraduate academic advising program and strategic student success initiatives to consistently support students academic success, persistence towards educational and career goals, and on-time graduation.
Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree or equivalent experience
Collaborative team player with the desire and ability to interact positively and build working relationships with individuals across campus
Excellent customer service skills, including responding effectively via phone, email, and in person
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to proactively communicate and advocate in order to continuously improve the system
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Experience with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel & Outlook
Willingness to continually learn new technologies and processes
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of student records and University data
Motivated self-starter & independent worker who is able to carry out multiple tasks and meet deadlines
