Job Description

ASSISTANT DEAN, ADVISING ASSESSMENT AND COMMUNICATION, Undergraduate Advising Center (UAC), to assume a newly created UAC role with responsibility for supporting all academic advising-related assessment and communications. Responsibilities include managing an advising caseload of undergraduate students; advising students on course selection, degree planning, career paths, and graduate school opportunities; maintaining up-to-date records on student advising caseloads; partnering on developing and implementing a comprehensive assessment of academic advising programs/services; collaborating on the hiring, supervising, training, and developing of direct report(s); supporting the implementation of communication strategies that convey the importance of academic advising, programming, and support services; collaborating on developing and implementing comprehensive communication plans for the UAC; managing and maintaining UAC communication channels, including website, social media, and newsletter; collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to student success, advising effectiveness, and programmatic outcomes; presenting recommendations, strategies, and solutions to improve academic advising; and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: master's degree; five years' advising/counseling/academic administration experience, including experience in assessment; in-depth knowledge of student learning outcomes and educational measurement concepts, including learning outcome design, learning outcome assessment methodology, and learning outcome assessment in higher education; ability to collaborate with a diverse range of students, faculty, and staff; experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis and ability to analyze, interpret, and effectively present data related to student success and retention, advising effectiveness, and/or programmatic outcomes; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences; and a flexible approach to handling responsibilities in a busy, ever-changing environment. Hiring range: $82,000 - 95,000

This is a full-time, hybrid position with occasional evening and weekend work required.
