Provides strategic vision and leadership to expand quality offerings engaging and supporting Alumni through Alumni Career Engagement. Reporting to the Senior Director for Alumni Relations, helps fulfill one of the University's brand promises of helping individuals pursue lives of meaning and purpose, which will be accomplished by engaging alumni through career counseling, common interest networks, mentoring, webinars, podcasts, and by building a culture in which everyone knows and believes Tigers hire and help Tigers. Ensures that staff collaboratively supports the programs and strategies of each of the Alumni Relations and Development departments and the overarching goals of service to Trinity University students, faculty, donors, alumni, and programs.
Responsible for formulating vision, providing leadership, and directing the strategy of Alumni Career Engagement programs, including bringing forward strategic plans that align with Alumni Relations goals while providing support and leadership to the Assistant Director of Alumni Career Engagement & Lifelong Learning, specifically.
Secures career counselors/advisors/coaches with the intent of implementing and maintaining a network of vetted alumni-focused career counselors. Provides continuous enhancement maintenance and cultivates the involvement of counselors in career engagement-focused webinars for the Trinity community.
Establishes, activates, and empowers volunteer-led Common Interest Networks (CINs) that support the mission of the Alumni Association and University by encouraging members to continue their relationship with the University through, in addition to regional clubs and class-year structure, three common interest pillars. The three network pillars are: professional-based (networks based on professional experiences, careers, and vocations); education-based (networks based on educational experiences at Trinity); and identity-based. CINs work to promote alumni career development and continuing education within their communities through intellectually stimulating programming, volunteerism, and fundraising to support University initiatives.
Executes fiduciary responsibilities for the Alumni Career Engagement Program.
Collaborates with the University Student Career Services Office regularly and one-off in projects such as "Ask Night," "World of Choices," or other events that position alumni as subject matter experts in front of students and alumni considering careers related to their work history.
Proposes and executes events related to Alumni Relations signature events, such as Alumni Weekend, and broadly contribute to a team atmosphere whenever possible, including managing career engagement-focused online applications/software and vendor relationships for the team.
Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience, and integrity to provide professional leadership.
Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines.
Performs other duties as required.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Master's degree from an accredited institution.
Three years of experience in leadership roles and/or the development and management of programs.
Three years of experience working in higher education alumni relations.
Experience in talent and staff recruitment management and selection assessment.
Budget management experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Computer literate with knowledge and ability with word processing equipment and familiarity with data entry and retrieval.
Ability to work non-traditional business hours and weekends.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong management and organizational skills.
Some knowledge of presentation software.
Familiarity with engagement platforms like Encompass by iModules.
Project management skills and experience, including building and implementing project management plans.
