The Department of Pediatrics at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital and Maine Medical Partners is seeking BE/BC primary care pediatricians to join our academically focused, well-established outpatient practices. Our practices in Westbrook and South Portland each seek a full-time pediatrician, and our practice in Portland seeks a half-time pediatrician. The selected candidates will join our larger group of 24 pediatricians, three adolescent medicine specialists, one child psychiatrist, six counselors, and advanced practice professionals spread across five sites.
The Maine Medical Partners practices are a member of the MaineHealth Primary Care and Child Health Service Lines, which provide care for a diverse population of children across Maine and southern New Hampshire with a diverse payor mix. All practices utilize the same integrated EMR across the system, creating a wealth of child health data for both urban and rural populations.
The clinical positions include outpatient general pediatrics, and will share well newborn rounding, night phone call, and weekend clinic with 24 pediatricians. Interprofessional team-based care is emphasized in our clinics. The ideal candidates will have strong clinical pediatric skills, welcome involvement with the community, and embrace change as these clinics develop innovative services. Experience with teaching, leadership, and/or research is preferred.
The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital, a 96-bed hospital within Maine Medical Center, is the tertiary medical center for children serving the state of Maine and southern and eastern New Hampshire with a busy Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Department of Pediatrics faculty in Portland and in ten rural community sites is comprised of 196 Primary Care Pediatricians and Family Medicine Physicians, along with over 100 pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists that provide comprehensive services for children, including trauma care, surgery for congenital heart disease and renal transplantation.
The Department of Pediatrics is an integral part of Tufts University Medical School. The successful candidate will have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine at the Assistant, Associate or Professor rank commensurate with experience. The position also involves teaching and mentoring residents, fellows and medical students from the Maine Medical Center-Tufts University School of Medicine Medical School Program and University of New England’s Osteopathic Program.
