Summary of Duties:
The WSU Athletics Budget Director provides financial guidance, oversight, and strategic planning for the WSU Athletics Business Operations Unit. This position is responsible for various aspects of departmental business operation and accounting procedures and will serve as the primary advisor to the Senior Associate AD/CFO. In collaboration with the Senior Associate AD/CFO and the WSU Athletics Business Office Manager, the WSU Athletics Budget Director, will help provide leadership and management of budget operations for the WSU Athletics Business Office. Other important duties include:
Representing the Senior Associate Athletic Director/CFO and department regarding internal and external matters when needed.
Exercising independent judgment and decision-making authority.
Participate and make recommendations to leadership in both long and short-term strategic planning for the unit.
Must be able to interpret and apply complicated rules and regulations.
Supervising the WSU Athletics Contract Fiscal Specialist Position.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field, and four (4) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Demonstrated ability to function in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal relationship skills, including the ability to provide information to diverse groups of people.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge and understanding of applicable rules and regulations, including State of Washington, Washington State University, Athletic Department, NCAA, and Pac-12 Conference rules and regulations.
Demonstrated work experience that requires strong time management, fiscal accountability and organizational skills.
Demonstrated work experience that requires an expertise with business practices and internal controls.
Possess excellent report writing skills and have the ability to initiate and complete projects with specific deadlines.

$5,833.00 - $6,250.00
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
