DESCRIPTION
The job will integrate into the clinical, teaching, research and distribution system for UC San Diego Health and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. These activities include but are not limited to: Profile review, TPN order writing, Pharmacokinetics, Renal Drug Dosing, Medication Reconciliation, Chemotherapy Order Review entry and validation in our Beacon Chemotherapy Electronic Medical Record, Precepting Pharmacy Students from the Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, precepting UC San Diego Health PGY1 and PGY2 Pharmacy Residents, Investigational Drug support and other activities that optimize outcomes of drug therapy.
Under general supervision, responsible for provision and documentation of medications and medication-related services to patients, according to standards established by the Department of Pharmacy. Serve as preceptor to pharmacy residents and students as assigned. Participate in Medical Center and Departmental committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy.
Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Stf Pharm1 or Stf Pharm2. Less than four (4) years experience qualifies as Stf Pharm1; Four (4) + years of experience qualifies as Stf Pharm2.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Doctorate of Pharmacy degree or equivalent clinical experience.
Registered Pharmacist - issued by the state of California (RPH).
Pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, on-call and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.

Annual Full Pay Range: $174,390 - $196,356 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $83.52 - $94.04
