The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) invites experienced social workers, psychologists, and/or counselors, to join our dynamic multidisciplinary Retriever Integrated Health team.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide confidential evidence-based mental health counseling, consultation, and crisis intervention services that promote the well-being to students experiencing personal, social, and emotional difficulties that may impede functioning and academic progress. Services will be provided both in-person and via telehealth from our on-campus location. This position will report to the Associate Director, work closely with team members from our medical and health promotion colleagues, Residential Life, and Student Affairs, along with faculty, and staff from across the campus.
We will consider candidates that are interested in part-time hours.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a masters or doctoral degree in social work, clinical psychology, counseling psychology or counseling.
The position requires licensure in a mental health field in Maryland or eligibility to practice in Maryland via PsyPact.
We are seeking candidates who are highly collaborative and self-motivated.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment and crisis intervention skills, as well as experience in brief therapy and group counseling. Strong preference will be given to candidates with knowledge and training in social justice, issues and concerns related to diversity, and a history of providing services to diverse populations including people of color, LGBTQIA+ populations, and first-generation college students preferred.
