About the Department
The University of Cincinnati College of Nursing is seeking an Admission Counselor to join our innovative and top-ranked team. Students are placed at the center of all that we do. Admission Counselors work collaboratively with prospective students to recruit and advise them through the admission process to meet their educational goals.

Job Overview
Admissions Counselors interact with staff, faculty, external agencies and other university departments. This position requires detail oriented skills, ability to develop and maintain a highly organized work environment and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. The selected candidate will have demonstrated making solid business decisions, problem-solving, and multi-tasking in a highly dynamic and fast paced business environment. This position may require evening and weekend hours outside of 8am-5pm and some travel may be required. The Admissions counselor will host on-site and virtual information sessions.
Individuals in the position of Admissions Counselor are responsible for the advisement of prospective students through the admission process to meet their educational goals. Active listening and proactive problem solving are important skills necessary for the position of Admissions Counselor. They should demonstrate good judgment when helping prospective students and applicants to make decisions throughout the admission process. Admissions Counselors will have a good understanding of admission processes related to all academic programs for which they are responsible and will advise on matters related to the College of Nursing's commitment to holistic admission practices. Admissions Counselors work closely with academic program coordinators & directors to ensure accurate representation of program admission requirements and deadlines in recruitment mediums. They will facilitate and communicate admission decisions. A current knowledge of University and College policy and procedures will be used in academic decision-making. Admissions Counselors have responsibility to manage inquiries from prospective students for assigned programs. The individual in this position will have a firm understanding of the program structure and requirements of nursing programs, as well as admission criteria for those programs. They will respond to in-person, telephone, text and email inquiries. They will develop and implement a marketing and recruitment strategy to recruit and admit students for the programs to which they are assigned and to meet target enrollment goals. They will deliver strategic messaging to prospective student audiences at venues included in the college's recruitment strategy. This position will be responsible for admission and recruitment event planning and implementation.
Admissions Counselors are responsible for maintaining and using information about prospective students, applicants, and organizations to advise and encourage students from prospect through application and enrollment. Such maintenance may include, but is not limited to, maintaining recruitment and admission database records and facilitating admission decisions. Utilization of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database and platforms to compile admission statistics to prepare and disseminate admission related reports used in decision making.
Essential Functions
Serve and manage portfolio of programs to ensure the college reaches various enrollment goals while being fiscally responsible. Serve as the primary resource for contacts in that area. Develop and execute initiatives that best serve the students and organizations in the area. Make data-driven decisions to coordinate and execute travel within that area, including visits to high schools and community colleges.
Some local travel and work evenings, weekends, and beyond a traditional work week as needed to effectively perform responsibilities, such as on-campus visit/event experiences.
Maintain and use information about students and organizations to advise and encourage students from prospect through application and enrollment.
Increase representation from one or more strategic populations based on the demographics of the territory (i.e. under-represented, high-achieving, transfer, out-of-state, and international).
Implement and explain university and college admissions policies.
May coordinate a specialized programmatic area such as on-campus and off-campus events, student tour guides, tele-counseling, campus visits, outreach and access, high-achieving scholars, website, social media, transfer, communications and marketing, regional campus referrals, etc.
Evaluate applications for admission. Accuracy and consistency will be needed to ensure the university is properly aligned to reach various enrollment goals.
Use a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to maintain records and prepare reports as required; generate reports and assist in analyzing and interpreting data for future planning and evaluation.

Microsoft Suite experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Etc.).
