Functions as a member of the Pulmonary Function and Exercise Laboratory. Maintains a safe environment for patients undergoing invasive and non-invasive diagnostic pulmonary test relating to cardiopulmonary physiology. Performs complex test involving lung mechanics, and arterial blood gases. Operates and troubleshoots state-of-the-art diagnostic and PC based equipment.Contributes to and participates organizing workday, customer support and satisfaction, training and education of staff, and performance improvement. Works cooperatively with other team members and other cross-functional department to ensure tests are performed in a timely manner and within lab quality standards.
Demonstration of previous performance of complete pulmonary function testing with bronchodilators, 6 minute walks, arterial blood gases, and oxygen saturation, oxygen titration testing and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. Adheres to Department and Medical Center's Policies and Procedures. Adheres to UCSD Core Values and CI Care program guidelines.
Two (2) year advanced practice RT Education Program/AS Degree.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) issued by the state of California.
BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
One (1) year experience in Respiratory Therapy.
BS degree in related field.
Respiratory Advanced Training (RAT I).
Respiratory Advanced Training (RAT II).
Incremental Exercise experience.
Arterial line management.

Annual Full Pay Range: $94,378 - $117,367 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
Hourly Equivalent: $45.20 - $56.21
