Detailed Job Description
Meet with and provide indicated prevention and/or intervention services to Deaf/HH students and individuals from the greater Rochester community
Complete projects/tasks/activities as outlined in the annual OASAS WorkPlan
Provide group and one on one counseling to clients at Norris Clinic
Maintain communication with campus partners and community service providers in order to coordinate services
Maintain log of all related activities for statistical reporting to funders
Design and produce educational materials matching language skills of the people we serve
Participate in community and campus events promoting prevention strategies and information
Other duties as assigned
Department/College Description Substance and Addiction Intervention Services for the Deaf (SAISD) provides alcohol, tobacco and other-drug (ATOD) information/referral, prevention education, intervention, cross-disability professional, consultation and training/support to treatment services. SAISD is a part of the Department of Student and Academic Services at National Technical Institute for the Deaf at Rochester Institute of Technology. SAISD has been a part of NTID/RIT since 1979.
Minimum Qualifications
BSW or BA/BS in Education, Counseling or related human services field
ASL fluency or comfortable conversational ASL skills, knowledge of Deaf culture
