The Department of Psychology is the largest academic department within the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences and has a complex business model for the financial management of the department's various funding sources.
Position Overview:
The Business Specialist will provide business services to the Department of Psychology, including advisor to Chair on budget decisions, approve for all purchases, reimbursements, payroll, organization and management of electronic files within the Department of Psychology.

Provide business services to the Department of Psychology through management of the State budget, including the graduate student budget; self-support projects, and faculty start up projects
Advisor to Chair on budget decisions, expense and income forecasting; provide funding scenarios, problem solving suggestions
Provide monthly and quarterly updates on all accounts
Approve all purchase and reimbursement requests through PAW and the PSYC RT system
Serve as backup payroll approver
Prepare bi-weekly payroll spreadsheets for preparation of time entry and review time entry for approver
Serve as P-card and D-card (purchasing) supervisor
Prepare and maintain GA master spreadsheet and advise GPC when letters, amendments or forms need to be prepared
Prepare adjunct contracts as well as adjunct contractual forms
Prepare journal entries, payroll retros and DBEs for processing
Maintain organization and management of electronic Box file folders within the Department of Psychology
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree preferably in a business related field
Two (2) years of higher education or related experience required
*Note: A Master's degree in a business or related field may be substituted for the required two years of experience. Graduate course work will be prorated with 15 credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
