The HR Tier 1 Coordinator is responsible for providing âœtier 1â advice and inquiry resolution to leaders and staff. The HR Tier 1 Coordinator will work closely with employees within the departments served, as well as functional office staff, providing a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions. This position is expected to optimize use of available technology in providing professional services. The Tier Once Coordinator is paired with and reports to a Strategic HR Partner.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities and duties for this role include:Â
Acting as the point of contact for troubleshooting, resolving, and/or routing departmentalemployees with Human Resources questions to appropriatecontact within central HR team
Interacting cross functionally with other HR team members, HR Advisors, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and various departments across the university to ensure handoffs, communication and interactions are customer focused, seamless, and delivered with high qualityÂ
Assisting employees in the submission of employee complaints, provide instructions and warm transfer to the appropriate person in central HR; maintains and updates employee records in the appropriate systemsÂ
Reviewing for policy alignment and processes requests for personnel changes, including FTE, funding, organization changes, salary and rate changes both temporary and permanent, additional appointmentsÂ
Assisting with employee communication initiatives; updating records; managing, tracking, processing, and compiling sensitive and confidential dataÂ
Responding to employment verification requests and assist with central hr email accountÂ
Processing hiring requests for staff in the appropriate systems, including initial collection of position related information, ensuring hiring policy and procedure compliance, and appropriate approval routing; may assist with faculty, lecturer, and post doc positions hiring requests
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in human resources or a closely related field and 3 years of related professional level work experience; OR equivalent work experienceÂ
Effective written communication and customer service skillsÂ
General working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and practicesÂ
Demonstrated ability to effectively balance multiple clients and inquiries
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Basic knowledge and understanding of human resource operations specifically in a university settingÂ
A willingness and demonstrated ability to learn new hardware and software systems
Ability to maintain confidentiality in compliance with rules and regulations on the disclosure of informationÂ
Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal formatsÂ
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships within and outside of reporting lines, and with diverse group of constituents
WORK MODE
Hybrid/Remote - Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.Â
