The University of Minnesota Morris is seeking applications for the position of Associate Director of Admissions. This is a 100% time, 12 month position. The University classification for this position is 9703AN, Associate Director.
The Office of Admissions is the primary source of information about the University of Minnesota Morris for prospective students, their families, and school counselors. The office recruits and admits students and facilitates connections to the University community. In addition, it represents and markets the campus through electronic communications and printed brochures and material regarding all phases of the institution and its policies and programs.
Reporting to the UMN Morris Director of Admissions, the Associate Director of Admissions provides leadership and support in the development and implementation of the undergraduate recruitment plan, oversees key recruitment strategies, and assists the Director of Admissions in the administration of the Office of Admissions. Based on the Morris campus, the Associate Director is responsible for implementing targeted recruitment initiatives; developing, supervising, and training the admissions staff; and coordinating recruitment travel and events. This Recruitment Team works face-to-face with all prospective students and families during campus visits, open houses and all recruitment travel. They are the informers and communicators, performing all outreach across the inquiry and applicant funnel. This position is an integral part of the Office of Admissions leadership team charged with achieving recruitment and enrollment success. Job Duties include:
Student Recruitment (50%)
Contribute to the successful accomplishment of the University’s enrollment objectives by working with the Director of Admissions to develop and implement a comprehensive student recruitment plan for undergraduate students which includes, but is not limited to, the following components: development of an inquiry pool through the use of student search services, outreach (college fairs, high school and community college visits), high school and community college relations, use of the web and emerging technologies, campus visit programs, publications, and e-mail/phone/texting correspondence.
Oversee recruitment territory management and yield activities by monitoring strategies and utilizing tools such as the University’s student information system and CRM, and other resources to research, compile data, and produce reports on progress toward meeting enrollment goals.
Manage a recruitment territory.
Assists with recruitment events on selected weekends or evening programs, as needed.
Supervising and Planning (30%)
Provide support to the recruitment and enrollment plan by coordinating fall and spring travel, including managing registrations and payments, communications for college day/night programs, professional admission organization memberships, campus-based and regional events, and managing a school database for planning high school visits.
Ensure the enrollment of a strong, qualified pool of academically prepared, diverse students in support of the university’s overall enrollment goals, and assist with developing and implementing a personalized, high-impact, and comprehensive recruitment program. Coordinate the creation and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
Works with the director of admissions to determine operations strategy and business process enhancements within the CRM.
Guides admissions counselors and support staff in the use of CRM functions to enhance recruitment efforts.
Keep up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
Marketing/Branding (20%)
Assist with the implementation of messaging strategies to prospective students throughout the admissions funnel.
Cultivate relationships with key constituents, including prospective students, parents and guardians, high school counselors, community leaders, secondary school teachers and administrators, and community-based organizations.
In collaboration with the Office of Communications and Marketing, coordinates the implementation of messaging strategies to prospective students throughout the admissions funnel. This includes, but is not limited to: email, texting, and video campaigns, family portal communications, and third-party vendor outreach.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree plus four years of progressive responsibility in undergraduate admissions and recruitment or related experience, or Master’s degree plus two years of relevant experience.
Familiarity with CRMs and SISs
Preferred Qualifications
Three to five years of progressive responsibility in undergraduate admissions and recruitment or related experience in a higher-education setting.
Experience with Slate CRM and PeopleSoft preferred.
A master’s degree is preferred.
