Description
The Associate Dean of Students is responsible to shepherd students’ transition to Spokane, provide a setting in which a healthy culture develops student community and retention, serve as a resource to connect students with various Moody service departments, encourage and support the students’ development socially, morally, and spiritually through various programmatic opportunities.
Essential Functions

Develop, supervise, and administer co-curricular activities and departmental objectives to foster and support a culture on the Moody Bible Institute – Spokane campus which aligns with MBI and Moody Aviation’s mission statements and core values.
Supervise and care for Spokane Student Life team members, delegate responsibilities among team and monitor progress.
Create an atmosphere which provides a sense of belonging, care, and accountability (including student discipline) for incoming and current students on the MBI-Spokane campus, including both in-person and remote learners.
Coordinate New Student Orientation, International Student Orientation and student retreat(s).
Serve as the first-year class Student Life advisor, planning, leading, and coordinating regularly scheduled first year class meetings throughout the year.
Mentor student leaders, equipping them to engage in community development activities and welcome new students into the aviation student body.
Oversee chapel, emphasizing spiritual development and worship; Assist with the development, execution, and participation in periodic spiritual enrichment and social events/activities.
Provide oversight of the MBI – Spokane Resident Assistant and housing programs.
Develop professional working relationships with the Chicago divisions of the Institute which interface with the Aviation campus and serve as the liaison to departments that coordinate and oversee compliance with the necessary policies and procedures related to various educational acts (i.e. Title IV and IX)
Perform other related and special duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge and unreserved commitment to MBI’s mission, doctrinal statement, and Moody Aviation’s traditional distinctives and standards.
Bachelor’s Degree
7 years of experience in Residence Life and/or Student Life
At least 4 years Supervisory/Managerial experience
Models a high level of professionalism, integrity and servanthood to our staff and student body with a heart to impact lives with the transformational power of the Gospel.
Exhibits excellent organizational and customer service skills.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills (written and oral).
Relates well with both male and female students and enjoys working with young adults.
Possesses an understanding of and appreciation for multicultural and multiethnic community needs and dynamics.
Demonstrates a willingness and ability to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic, work/service environment.
Possesses a thorough working knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office applications and remote collaboration tools such as Zoom.
Authorized to work in the US legally without sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
Master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs or related field.
