GENERAL DUTIES

Educational Opportunity Centers provide academic instruction, vocational training, and support services to educationally and economically disadvantaged adults. Funded by a legislative appropriation to the State University of New York, Educational Opportunity Centers in New York City are administered by CUNY.

As a faculty member of a CUNY Educational Opportunity Center (EOC), performs teaching and related faculty functions in the area(s) of expertise as noted below. Lecturers:

• Teach Home Health Aide course and/or Certified Nursing Assistant Courses
• Certify students on the HHA directory and sign certifications
• Prepare and deliver student lectures
• Work with the student support care team to advise on student conduct and academic progress
• Participate in student advisement, curriculum development, and related activities to advance the educational aims of the Center

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION

Bronx EOC is looking for an adjunct lecturer to teach remedial reading and math to prepare adult students for the GED program. The adjunct lecturer is required to report attendance, monitor, and evaluates student progress, communicate with the counselor/case manager for the program and utilize technology in the classroom to deliver lessons.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate degree in Nursing with four years of teaching expertise and other qualifications noted below is necessary for satisfactory performance. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor???s Degree in Nursing preferred with at least two years of experience teaching and working with adult students, including experience with instructional technology and/or distance learning. Experience assigning and facilitating work using computer-assisted instructional software will be a plus.

COMPENSATION

Salary: $91.67 hourly.
