The Human Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) is searching for a PhD Program Coordinator to join the team. This role will support and mentor PhD students and coordinate annual events of the PhD program. In addition, you'll be responsible for problem-solving issues and partnering with the PhD Program Director to develop the program so that it continues to be the world's class doctoral program in HCI.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Coordinate annual events of the PhD program: orientation, two evaluation meetings, group meetings with PhD students, appreciation week and graduation.
• Manage financial concerns of the PhD program, including the development of annual budget, computer costing, or other expenses as needed and submission of reimbursements and verifications of PRCs.
• In charge of organizing and improving the processes and tasks related to daily functioning of the PhD Program such as: gsaudit system, proper registration, student status updates, ICC issues and requests, tracking student progress, responding to inquiries, collecting admissions materials, maintaining d-lists, and updating webpages.
• Alumni relations work and a larger executive role in making day to day as well as strategic decisions about the program. This change also reflects expansion in the number of students in our program and the resulting increase workload across her existing responsibilities.
• All aspects of the PhD process, not limited to PhD recruiting and admissions, Open House and Orientation, PhD student-advisor matching, PhD student evaluation and monitoring of student progress, PhD proposal planning (including room scheduling and food ordering, if any) and PhD thesis planning (including room scheduling and food ordering, if any), and PhD degree certification and graduation.

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree
• 3-5 years of experience with administration support.
• Experience in higher education and student services support.
• Strong organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
