About the Opportunity
The Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion has primary responsibility for the D'Amore-McKim School of Business (DMSB) diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives throughout the School; including for faculty, staff, and students. This position will report to the Dean of the D'Amore-McKim School of Business and partner with the Dean and the Associate/Assistant Deans to set and implement the strategic vision for the School's efforts in this area to support the university-wide commitment to DEI. The Assistant Dean for DEI will actively engage with the School's students, faculty, and staff to promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for all members of the DMSB community.
As a member of the DMSB leadership team, the Assistant Dean is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating progress with respect to goals related to diversity, equity, and inclusion for the school. The Assistant Dean will also work collaboratively with colleagues across the university to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the DMSB.

The D'Amore-McKim School of Business offers a unique model of business education that purposely blends innovative classroom learning with real-world business application. Responsibilities:
1. Lead innovative and sustainable efforts to cultivate a diverse, inclusive, and equitable community in the DMSB for all students, faculty, and staff in accordance with both the university and the DMSB DEI Action Plans. This includes identifying, developing, and providing programs, education, training, workshops, events and supporting activities and scholarly research that promote diversity, inclusion, and belonging in all facets of the DMSB.
2. Collaborate with undergraduate and graduate associate deans to identify ways to attract potential under-represented students to DMSB.
3. Lead efforts in planning and executing special programs for entering students from non-traditional and diverse backgrounds to assist them in transitioning to the DMSB and university environment. Work closely with the Office of Student Engagement, Affinity, and Inclusion and faculty on this programming.
4.Enhance student retention and success by forging partnerships with affinity organizations and diverse alumni to provide various types of support.
5.Participate in the development of educational materials. Teach, and possibly conduct research related to diversity, equity, and inclusion appropriate to the needs of a business school.
6. Collect and analyze data from the DMSB community to assess, understand, and respond to the needs and concerns of students, faculty, and staff.
7. Take a lead role in planning and implementing diversity, inclusion, and belonging programming for faculty, including faculty recruiting (working with recruiting committees), new faculty orientations, and events throughout the academic year.
Qualifications:
The Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion will have a terminal degree in business or other relevant fields and experience in developing, facilitating, and organizing diversity, equity, and inclusion programming & training. As part of the faculty role, the candidate will have relevant experience and interest in developing educational materials, teaching, and possibly research activities related to diversity, equity, and inclusion appropriate to the needs of a business school.
The ideal candidate must be able to handle complexity in a fast-paced environment. Excellent interpersonal communications and effective writing, organizational and analytical skills are essential. Must have proven ability to work independently, be adaptable to new systems and procedures, and be highly responsive to student, faculty, and staff needs and diverse perspectives. Must have demonstrated experience working effectively to enhance diversity, inclusion, and belonging.
The Assistant Dean must be a self-starter, innovative, and results-oriented with strong verbal and writing communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines, and be committed to the mission of Northeastern University and the D'Amore-McKim School of Business.
