Overview
Provide high-level programmatic support to meet the evolving strategic objectives of the Office of the Dean. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this role will manage the smooth operations of the Dean's Office. This includes managing academic, administrative, and financial operations for the Office of the Dean at the NYU School of Global Public Health (GPH). Planning, developing and implementing new and existing programs and initiatives. The role will oversee Deans Office's special projects and facilitate school-wide initiatives created by the Deans office. Work with the Chief of Staff to develop improvements to and possible courses of action within existing departmental policies & procedures. Facilitate management of international travel, including travel logistics for Deans office team members. Serve as administrative liaison with other school and university departments and offices and supervise office staff.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree With concentration or course work in public health, business or public administration, higher education, or related field.
Preferred Education: Master's Degree Public health
Required Experience: 3+ years relevant experience. Must include experience supervising office operations, student staff and temporary employees; administering budgets, and planning special events and activities.
Preferred Experience: Experience working in a higher education institution. Working in a fast-paced environment with faculty and students in a higher education institution.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Excellent organizational skills. Demonstrates the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels of seniority, both formally and informally. Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. Knowledge of diverse cultures and customs. Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service both internally and externally. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience in project management, event planning and graphic design software (i.e., Canva, InDesign, etc.).
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $58,500.00 to USD $98,000.00.
