Job Description: What We're Looking For
The Baylor Angel Network is seeking an entrepreneurial, detail-oriented, highly organized team member for Associate Director of the Baylor Angel Network. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a hands-on role in a unique angel network committed to providing experiential education opportunities for students of Baylor University. Experience in angel and venture investment is required. Previous participation in the Baylor Angel Network or associated BAN Analyst program is strongly preferred.
A Bachelors degree, less than one year of relevant experience and a Christian faith are required. Masters degree and three years of relevant work experience preferred. Experience will be considered in lieu of the education requirement. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
The BAN Associate Director reports to the Executive Director and is a full-time role to start in May 2023.
What You Will Do
Source and assess entrepreneurial ventures raising angel/venture capital
Attend and engage with various startup events throughout Texas (requires some travel to other Texas cities for incubators, accelerator, pitch competition events, etc)
Help build the pipeline of target companies and key innovation trends
Build relationships with peer angel groups, VCs, and operating companies
Screen applying investment opportunities
Assist with diligence process and analysis
Program management and support:
Communication strategy - Execute communication and brand strategy (email, social media, other postings)
Presentation meeting - Organize and manage quarterly presentation meetings connecting investors and entrepreneurs.
Member relations and engagement
Maintain organized roster of BAN members and associated donations
Coordinate engagement activities (e.g., social, educational, and outreach events)
Membership recruiting and onboarding
Recruit prospective BAN members, investors, advisors
Sign up new leads and onboard new members to the Baylor Angel Network
Monitor the BAN investment portfolio
Monitor and record qualitative and financial performance of BAN portfolio
Track portfolio company traction, subsequent raises, returns, etc.
Baylor stakeholder engagement - Identify and foster relationships across Baylor University programs and initiatives to expand BAN's presence and impact.
Potential to engage BAN student analysts as coach, mentor, and providing feedback on student work in the screening cycle company evaluation
Other activities as delegated by the executive director
