Sacramento Country Day School, the regional leader in PK-12th grade independent school education since 1964, seeks a Kindergarten Teacher to add to our excellent faculty.
This is a full-time position with benefits, beginning August 16, 2023. The salary range is $50,000-$90,000 depending on education and years of experience. is an expert at building a classroom community
is skilled in developing and teaching Kindergarten curriculum
is a great collaborator who values teamwork
engages with parents as partners in their children's growth and development
has a sense of humor
can meet the needs of a wide range of learners, and is able to integrate social emotional learning into the curriculum. Responsive Classroom training is a plus.
is a great communicator
Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or similar field, Master’s Preferred
Teaching experience preferably at an independent school in the lower grades
Teaching credential preferred
A deep knowledge of the developmental needs of young children
Cultural competency and the ability to work within a diverse community
Experience differentiating instruction to meet a wide range of student needs.
Interest in collaborating in curriculum development and engaging in best practices
Joy in working with five- and six-year olds and making learning fun
Cultural competency and the ability to interact with a diverse community with empathy
Experience differentiating curriculum to meet the individual needs of students
Experience with Wilson’s Fundations preferred.
Candidates also must complete a background check, hold First Aid/CPR certification, and be tested for TB. Sacramento Country Day School teachers are active in the school community, many serving as advisors, trip chaperones, and coaches.
