Job Overview
Reporting directly to the Director of Recruitment & Strategic Initiatives, the new Associate Director of Admissions, Recruitment & Outreach will provide critical strategic leadership for system wide undergraduate recruitment and outreach efforts. This role will lead the alignment of national and local recruitment efforts, increase focus on strategic territory management, and the development of a central admission office infrastructure that leads th e coordination of a system wide enrollment strategy.
This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive recruitment plan that is informed by institutional enrollment priorities and market driven strategies along with the director. The Associate Director will provide leadership for domestic first year recruitment in our national and regional markets,which includes more than 35,000 applicants and cultivation of over 185,000 prospects.
This position will be housed at UC's Uptown campus and will have an influence in system wide recruitment efforts for domestic first year recruitment. This position will offer flexibility for a hybrid remote work option for applicants with a residence within the Cincinnati tri state area. The hybrid arrangement is 60% (3 days) in the office and 40% (2 days) remote.
A relocation package is available for qualified candidates upon request.
Essential Functions
Assist with the direction of an admissions office or center with primary responsibilities for day to day operations and administrative management in which decisions and quality of execution have significant impact on internal and external relations.
Develop long-range plans and strategies to achieve unit, departmental and university goals for areas of responsibility, monitors and achieves established goals.
Recommend, implement, and interpret internal rules, policies, procedures, controls, and manage processes to advance service levels; develop and implement responsive service programs.
Attend meetings on behalf of the Director; consults with Director on major policy changes affecting other departments; authority to grant exceptions; may function as the Director in his/her absence, as required.
Develop, implement and monitor assigned budgets; authority for function budget, revenue, and expense planning and approving expenditure; delegated signature authority for programs or functions within department or center.
Monitor and coordinate staff development and training programs.
Compile data required for internal and external reports and assessments; interpret and disseminate information, provide advice, assist in development of advising materials, deliver presentations, ensure that all programs and services comply with university, state and federal regulations.
Maintain collaborative relationships with departments/units regarding efforts that enrich the student experience.
Maintain and stay abreast of trends in student recruitment and retentions and academic programs requirements.
Serve on various university, division and departmental committees, represent the department at various state and national associations.
May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
Five (5) years of experience in admissions.
Previous supervisory experience.
Some positions may require specialized experience.
Additional Qualifications Considered
Master's degree.
Experience with developing and carrying out recruitment and/or outreach within the context of admissions.
Direct experience in the field of recruitment of students and territory management.

Have the ability to foster collaborative efforts and build partnerships with internal and external constituents.
Demonstrated proven success in innovative thinking; excellent execution of both complex and routine recruitment strategies; a record of taking programs to new levels of success; ability to think creatively and to leverage technology.
Demonstrated experience working with Slate (CRM) and other available technology to drive recruitment efforts and monitor results.
Demonstrated experience of the admissions process including recruitment/yield strategies, territory management, and facilitation of high school counselor and/or community-based partnerships.
