Reporting to the SVP of Analytics and Intelligence, the Director of Advanced Analytics - Acute Clinical will lead in all aspects for a specific domain of data. This role will have responsibility to lead other directors to support the definition, design, development, and support of key analytics products and solutions as prioritized by their key domain stakeholders. This role is responsible for working with other domain leaders, data governance, BSWH leadership, and contracted vendors to enable value creation and to ensure adoption of analytic products and solutions. Analytic strategic initiatives are revised yearly and are developed by BSWH executives to address opportunities with care delivery models, cost reduction, and to improve quality and safety outcomes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE Essential Functions
Serves as a trusted advisor to multiple key stakeholders in a specialized domain (e.g. Clinical Acute, Value Based Care, etc). Take ownership for leading all aspects of leading analytics product development, support, and adoption for a specific domain of data (e.g. Acute Clinical, Value Based Care, Ambulatory, etc.)
Work collaboratively with key senior stakeholders to build strategic plans and roadmaps for each product or solution under their responsibility. Include key features, data to be ingested, and capabilities to be delivered.
Lead the concurrent development (build) of all analytics products or solutions along with management and support of established products or solutions for their respective domain.
Provide oversight and leadership for build of analytic insight tools, dashboards, and scorecards (i.e. products and solutions) that improve customer experience and loyalty, identify unsupported clinical variation, reduce waste, and improve the cost-effectiveness and economic efficiency of organizational processes, protocols, contract performance, care management, etc.
Through thought leadership and best practice, lead teams to identify the most efficient and impactful approach to deliver the desired analytic solution to scale. Collaborate with key stakeholders and executives to test/pilot concepts and broadly deploy them across the enterprise in respected analytics domains.
Lead and develop teams to identify and generate ad-hoc analysis to drive short-term strategies and accelerate change.
Lead teams to develop analytic value achievement plan creation and monitoring for each new analytic product delivered the organization. Meet routinely with assigned executive stakeholders on a quarterly basis to ensure value creation, updates, and timely feedback.
Proactively collaborates with cross functional domain leaders and data governance team to prioritize the need for data lineage, data quality, and appropriate data documentation. Assist with analytic product feature enhancements requests and prioritization of analytic product backlog.
Collaborate effectively with the data platform and engineering team to support delivery life cycle for analytics products under management.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Experience leading and growing a large leveraged team of analytics engineers and business intelligence professionals in managing multiple analytics delivery projects.
Demonstrated expertise in healthcare operations, consulting or healthcare delivery systems, including (but not limited to) data systems, data architecture, electronic health records, ETL, analytic product development, data science, cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake), and reporting.
Strong critical thinking, change management, and project management skills.
Strong executive presence and ability to build and maintain professional relationships with executive stakeholders.
Ability to effectively communicate findings, analysis, implications, and recommendations to varied stakeholder audiences, across all levels of the enterprise.
Bachelor’s degree in related area required
Experience in quality operations, financial analysis, and informatics operations
3 + years of experience in respective domain operations such as customer, physician/provider, value-based care, population health, business operations, and quality analytics.
Preferred
Master’s degree in healthcare, leadership, public health, administration, or MBA preferred.
Experience in consulting with strong organizational, project management, time management, executive presence, and data storytelling skills.
Trained or has extensive experience with agile (SCRUM preferred) methodology.
Background in quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
