Zions Capital Markets is seeking a well-qualified professional to join its Corporate Finance Solutions Group as an Advisory Director. The Corporate Finance Solutions Group is an investment banking team within Zions Capital Markets that provides advisory and investment banking services to clients for a wide range of solutions. The Advisory team provides fee-based, advisory services to help clients with a number of important strategic and financial matters including raising capital, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate finance initiatives. Investment banking and securities underwriting activities are offered through Zions Direct, Inc., member FINRA / SIPC.
This role is an exciting opportunity to join an entrepreneurial group building a fast-growing platform within a key focus area of the Bank.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for originating and leading transaction activity by directing junior team members, being responsible for all deliverables, and serving as a team lead for client, investor, and senior management interactions
Assist clients through the entire transaction process including due diligence, marketing, negotiations, and execution including review of all related documents and materials
Identify and manage risks in each engagement by ensuring processes, controls, and work product are fully compliant with all applicable regulations, rules, and internal policies
Develop relationships with clients, prospects, financial sponsors and other capital providers / investors, lawyers, advisors, and referral partners (both within Zions Bancorporation and externally) to identify, evaluate, and originate potential opportunities and to continue to build the brand of Zions Capital Markets
Responsible for the approval process for engagements
Lead teams that perform due diligence, complex financial and business analyses, and business valuations
Manage, lead, and/or mentor junior bankers and team members
Some travel required
Manage ad hoc tasks and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a similarly related field. MBA and/or CFA is a plus
10+ years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory services, or similar experience
Deep knowledge of investment banking products, services, and markets
Self-directed, highly motivated, and proactive
Ready to assume a high level of responsibility
Demonstrated track record of achievement in middle market M&A and/or capital raising
Significant knowledge of applicable investment banking regulations
Excellent analytical, quantitative, and communication (both verbal and written)
High level of focus on work quality and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects independently under pressure and tight deadlines
Unquestionable ethics, integrity, and judgment
Strong organizational skills with demonstrated track record of meeting deadlines and effective time management
Series 79 (or equivalent) and 63 will be required within 90 days of joining
