The Office of Enrollment Management (EM) at the Central Office invites applications for the newly created position of Senior University Dean for Enrollment Management (SUD-EM) to develop, manage, and evaluate a comprehensive enrollment management plan in accordance with the University???s emerging strategic plan. As a direct report to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management, the SUD will execute a new vision that will take the Office of EM to its next level of enrollment success. This proactive and dynamic individual will boast comprehensive knowledge of current theory and best practice in admissions, financial aid, student retention, and student success, while furthering a learning culture by leveraging data and technology. Overall, the SUD-EM will convey the vision for enrollment management and promote a commitment to open conversation and shared goals to inspire and engage as many students, staff, faculty, parents, alumni, and community partners as possible to join together in achieving the enrollment vision.
The Senior University Dean for Enrollment Management will provide leadership and creativity for a strategic plan for enrollment, sustain and extend CUNY???s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and identify opportunities for growth across student populations. Additional key commitments include but will not be limited to the following:
Exercise oversight of the following Central Office departments: Admissions Services and Recruiting, Student Financial Assistance, Registrar, CUNY K-16 Initiatives, and Special Programs;
Coordinate the fiscal, operational, and administrative activities of Enrollment Management, and facilitate effective communication on behalf of the Vice Chancellor;
Support both the Central Administration and the college campus enrollment divisions in continuous and ambitious improvement efforts;
On behalf of the Vice Chancellor, oversee the completion and submission of relevant reports and program requests as required by the CUNY Board of Trustees, the Chancellor, the Chancellor???s Cabinet, and others;
Develop new and maintain existing external partnerships including the NYC Board of Education, local and regional elected officials, the College Board, and various professional associations;
And serve as the Vice Chancellor???s executive designee, representing her at key meetings and events both within and outside of the CUNY community.
Until further notice, this is a hybrid position, eligible to work remotely and on-site in the office.
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
The professional qualifications and strengths of the preferred candidate are as follows:
A passion for new student experience and success, and proven effectiveness working with individuals from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds in a public higher education institution. They will have an advanced degree in higher education administration or a directly related discipline, and at least eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in related student enrollment functional areas, programs and services. As a champion of change, the successful candidate will exhibit a proven record of nurturing interdivisional collaboration, high emotional intelligence, and a commitment to CUNY???s mission. Active professional memberships and participation in correlated professional organizations and associations highly preferred.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range is $185,000 - $195,000 , commensurate with qualifications, education and experience.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Health Plan Coverage for Employees Hired on or after October 1, 2022
City of New York employees and employees of Participating Employers and their eligible dependents hired on or after October 1, 2022 will only be eligible to enroll in the EmblemHealth HIP HMO Preferred Plan and must remain in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan for the first year (365 days) of employment. After 365 days of employment, the employee will have the option of either remaining in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan or selecting a different health plan within 30 days before the end of the 365th day period. If a new health plan is selected, the new plan will be effective on the 366th day.
Only after the 365th day can the employee participate in any Annual Fall Transfer Period. An employee who needs to request an exemption from the required enrollment in the HIP HMO Preferred Plan can do so by submitting a HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form to EmblemHealth. An employee, or eligible dependent, must meet certain criteria and the request must be approved by EmblemHealth before the exemption is granted. The HIP HMO Opt-Out Request Form and HIP service area are available on the EmblemHealth website.
