The Corporate Development team is responsible for deploying CBRE’s sizable balance sheet ($1.7 billion as of March 31, 2022) in growth-enhancing inorganic opportunities. Primary activities include sourcing, evaluating, implementing and structuring acquisitions, mergers and divestitures, joint ventures, partnerships, and direct and fund (limited partner) investing.
The Manager of Corporate Development will play a key role in supporting CBRE’s M&A activities by creating advanced financial analysis and modeling, evaluating corporate strategic positioning, and reviewing and providing recommendations on new and existing M&A transactions and projects in collaboration with CBRE’s senior leadership. The individual will have the opportunity to develop close working relationships with key leaders at and beyond CBRE, and will need to exercise sound judgment and intuition. Responsibilities include:
Source and evaluate M&A opportunities and provide recommendations to senior Corporate Development and CBRE Management team members concerning tactical plans/strategies/risks to implement new business growth activities
Manage all aspects of M&A deal processes (market analysis, prospecting, deal sourcing, due diligence negotiations, legal documentation, financial modeling, financial advisory and valuation of strategic alternatives, risk assessment, scenario analyses, etc.), including developing the business case (including synergies) and building internal consensus on strategic fit and the post-deal plan
Track business trends & market research, track key industry players, identify new market opportunities and lead thesis/strategy definition, help develop/track metrics for assessment of growth opportunities
Work across segments and deal leads in support of varied deals. Work with colleagues of similar tenure to share best practices and information
Develop and maintains a comprehensive understanding of all CBRE's business lines.
Conduct complex financial modeling, including various valuation methods, and develops clear presentations to support analysis
Assist in meetings with senior CBRE executives to identify areas of growth and potential investment targets
Serve as trusted advisor and key resource on post-deal activities to ensure successful outcomes

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Manager, Corporate Development position is $115,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $125,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline from a 4-year college or university
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) a plus
2 years professional experience in investment banking, corporate development (M&A), private equity, and/or consulting

Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.)
