Summary:
Vermont Academy is nestled on four hundred fifty acres at the foothills of the Green Mountains in Saxtons River, Vermont, and has provided a supportive community and close personal attention to its students for 146 years. We seek a Math teacher who will support the growth of today’s students. Vermont Academy currently offers a traditional high school math sequence, from introductory algebra to AP-level statistics and calculus. However, we continually try to reassess our content and approaches to meet the needs of today’s students. The top priority is to provide a safe and supportive environment for students to create and grow. Candidates with a background in statistics, mathematical modeling, or coding will get special consideration. Salary is based on degrees, experience, and the contributions the candidate can make to the school.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach four to five sections of math
- Live in, or serve as an affiliate to one of the Academy’s dormitories
- Coach or supervise an activity during two seasons, with priority given to those with experience with basketball, hockey, nordic, and/or soccer
- Serve as an academic advisor
- Monthly weekend duty
