LREI (Little Red School House & Elisabeth Irwin High School) seeks educators committed to exploring progressive pedagogy. Candidates with diverse experiences are encouraged to apply. The school isseeking a Middle School Math Teacher for Grades 5 and 6 to serve as a leave replacement from March 6th to June 21st, 2023. They will be responsible for teaching two sections of fifth grade and one section of sixth.
Overview of Position
LREI seeks a full-time Middle School Mathematics Teacher to support the development of mathknowledge and skills through constructivist, inquiry-based teaching. The candidate is responsible for planning collaboratively with their departmental colleagues and grade-level colleagues. Candidates willalso be asked to serve as an advisor for a group of middle school students. Successful LREI teachers arelifelong learners who are reflective about their practice, find ways to bring ‘real life’ into their classroomincluding current events, the neighborhood and the city, and seek out professional development andleadership opportunities.
Qualifications Sought
Candidates should be comfortable teaching in an inquiry-based way, structuring classes wherestudents develop fluency and understanding by engaging in discovery, discourse, and proofrather than rehearsal of a set of algorithms.
A commitment to social justice and equity, cultural competence, the ability to workcollaboratively, excellent communication skills, and a willingness to work closely with familiesare essential.

Salary Range
Prorated from annual salary of $64,841.81 - $124,466.10 (depending on experience and education).
