Upper School Biology Teacher – Starting Aug 2023
The Position
We seek a high school biology teacher with significant experience in the secondary classroom. Experience in the laboratory via academia or industry is desirable but not necessary. The ideal candidate will be interested in guiding our students through both core science classes and advanced independent biology research projects.In addition, the ideal candidate will have interest and experience in a variety of modes of teaching and be highly skilled at differentiated instruction for our gifted learners. The candidate will have taught several years at the high school and/or university level, and will have knowledge of more than one academic discipline so that they might design and/or teach an interdisciplinary advanced elective. (Chemistry teaching experience is particularly desirable) As a relatively new upper school division, we seek dedicated educators who have an interest in collaborating with our current faculty as partners in the ongoing review, design, and implementation of our curricular program and science offerings.

Position Qualifications
- Demonstrated mastery in the area of study, as well as an ability and desire to teach within and across academic disciplines collaboratively
- Bachelor's and advanced university degree
- Minimum of three years’ successful teaching experience at high school and/or university level
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience teaching the craft of writing and research within the discipline
- Flexibility and creativity in working in a dynamic environment where new ideas, mistakes, and iteration are embraced
- A profound openness to feedback and improvement, modeling lifelong learning of practice as well as subject area.
Compensation
The full-time salary range for this faculty position is from $75,000 - $135,000. The starting salary is based upon, but not limited to, several factors that include type and years of creditable experience, education level, and expertise.
