Job Overview:
The Academic Advisor will serve as the contact person to his/her assigned students who attend classes online or on our New Haven campus. He/she will meet with students on a regular basis to develop and monitor educational plans and goals. He/she will also work closely with other advisors, admissions, the registrar, department chairs, and faculty to provide timely and accurate information on course/degree options.
Essential Functions:
Meet with new and returning students to develop and monitor educational plans and goals.
Conduct one-on-one orientations with new students to go over the college portal,
e-learning, and review policies and procedures.
Provide students with information about resources to support them academically and personally.
Assist faculty advisors with questions and help process registration.
Serve as a liaison between the business, registrar, and financial aid offices.
Qualifications:
Two years previous experience in academic advising preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education:
Masters Degree in higher education or related field preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Ability to work independently, multi-task, identify priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, e-learning portals (specifically Moodle preferred.)

Full-time employees are eligible to receive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Full-Time employees can earn between 18-23 paid time off a year. The employer covers tuition remission after 90 days of employment and covers 100 % (employees responsible for books and technology fees).
