The Financial Aid Office administers in excess of $100 million in student financial aid annually from federal, state, institutional, and private sources to students from a wide variety of backgrounds. Our team collaborates with students to ensure they understand their options, choices and commitments. The Financial Aid Counselor will join a team with long-standing dedication to St. Catherine University and to growing a diverse student body. The Technical Support Specialist creates and manages technical operations across multiple platforms and troubleshoots daily technical issues. Responsibilities include:
Manage technical operations and financial aid system administration including:
Create and maintain technical infrastructure to support delivery of aid from all programs and sources to students in every program at the University.
Initiate, monitor, and coordinate point releases, technical updates, and enhancements with IT department.
Install and upgrade programs from Department of Education and outside vendors needed for financial aid processing.
Review and integrate new federal, state, and institutional regulatory and policy updates.
Coordinate and complete Electronic Data Exchange processing for all financial aid recipients.
Process financial aid and report upon critical data including:
Create, update, and run SQL based ARGOS dashboards and reports of financial aid, student admission, registration and finance data to support financial aid operations, research activities, and for use in simulations, modeling, and policy decision making.
Coordinate ARGOS data block, dashboard and report creation with IT and other offices to ensure proper data collection.
Maintain processing of email and paper award, tracking, and notifications.
Create and update workflows, data exchanges and system integrations including:
Create, update, and maintain AM9 (Automic) process flows to ensure timely and accurate data exchanges.
Provide detailed attention to selection and programming of each individual job and placement within extensive consecutive process schedule to ensure functional dependency order and process success.
Test and maintain integrity with scheduled processes.
Process daily data load of student records from the Department of Education’s SAIG mailbox to the Banner student financial aid system.
Review and update Electronic Data Exchange processes for ISIR’s, correction, Pell, disbursement, and loan files.
Research and resolve issues with data discrepancies.
Train financial aid staff in use of reports and of new and installed system functionality. Troubleshoot software, communication, and operational problems for staff.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of financial aid experience. Note that an equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted for a degree.
Proficiency with databases, reporting tools, data analysis, and business intelligence.
Detail oriented, commitment to complete work with high level of accuracy.
Ability to analyze and interpret data, make independent decisions meet deadlines and process a high volume of work with great accuracy.
