Job Summary
The Advising Services unit in the Graduate Studies office is a campus-wide service unit that is directly engaged with graduate program staff and students on a constant basis, and serves as the primary point of contact for these groups on issues related to graduate education. Graduate programs across campus report up to Graduate Studies via the Advising Services unit for the matriculation, academic progress and milestones, and graduation of graduate students at UC Davis.
Under supervision of the Director of Advising, the Project Policy Analyst 2 (Intake Coordinator) works as an integral part of the team by assisting in the development of efficient and cost-effective workflows, outcome management, departmental projects, redesign, and improvement efforts. This position serves as an intake coordinator for questions from students and programs, assisting with mainline advising as well as referrals and scheduling advising appointments. Supports student services advisors and student academic advisors with intake and triage of student requests, and manages scheduling, communications, and workflow tracking. Makes judgments, decisions, and recommendations that are necessary for smooth and consistent advising, process documentation, and succession planning.

Experience with data collection, surveys, and workflow design
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA) :
Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills.
Interpersonal and communication skills to work with diverse populations.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills and a strong work ethic.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with student advising.
Experience providing academic and administrative services.

Skills monitoring/assessing people, processes or services, to make improvements.
