Residential Life Manager Under the direct supervision of our year-round Assistant Director of Residential Life (A-DRL), the RLM supports YYGS Leadership in organizing and managing many aspects of residential life for 600 participants and 60+ residential life and instructional staff members in three residential colleges for the duration of the program. This includes creating a welcoming environment and ensuring safety and security for all staff and students, handling non-medical emergencies, supporting program operations, being a leader on the Residential Life Team, and supporting the program as needed. The RLM will act as a proxy for the A-DRL as needed.
Residential College Leads Under the direct supervision of our year-round Assistant Director of Residential Life (A-DRL) and the Residential Life Manager (RLM), Residential College Leads manage a team of Residential Advisors, a Program Office, and various residential life and academic activities. They are leaders within their Residential College (that houses 170-240 participants and staff), and are responsible for participant supervision and creating a safe and welcoming community. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring the safety and security of YYGS participants, assisting with participant needs and concerns, coordinating activities, and supporting the program as needed.
Residential Advisors The Residential Advisors (RA) are full-time positions, and they work on a shift rotation (including nights and weekends). RAs are assigned to one of three Residential Colleges (Pierson, Davenport, or Jonathan Edwards). We are looking to hire multiple RAs, including a subset that are passionate about each of the four academic tracks (STEM, Social Sciences, Humanities, Cross-Disciplinary) to support the YYGS Leadership team.
Successful completion of background check;
Eager to live in our residential colleges with YYGS Instructional Staff and YYGS participants (ages 16 – 18 from all over the world);
Interest in working with diverse youth and supporting intercultural respect and communication;
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizations skills, and an ability to multi-task;
Enjoy working outdoors and walking across campus several times per day.

Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) runs one of the most globally diverse, two-week academic enrichment programs in the world. Approximately 600 students attend YYGS during each of the 3 two-week sessions, and they are housed in Yale’s historic Residential Colleges (Pierson College, Davenport College, and Jonathan Edwards College). Our curriculum is highly collaborative, exposing participants to innovative topics while facilitating student discussions shaped by international perspectives. Students have the opportunity to participate in one of four academic tracks: STEM, Social Sciences, Humanities, or Cross-disciplinary.
