The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is in search of a dependable, flexible, and detailed-oriented and experienced Research Project Specialist to join a research team at the University of Southern California that is the Engagement and Optimization Unit (EOU). This team is part of the larger Center, the USC PE-GCS: Optimizing Engagement of Hispanic Colorectal Cancer Patients in Cancer Genomic Characterization Studies Center. The Project Specialist will be part of this team that will be conducting rigorous research to generate and validate evidence-based best practices and tools to optimize Hispanic/Latino patient engagement in cancer education and genetic testing. The successful Spanish-speaking candidate will interact with research participants to  screen, consent, and enroll eligible participants. They will also administer testing and data collection among other research related tasks for the Engagement Optimization Unit.

Key job responsibilities include:

• Identify, screen, consent, and interview potential participants
• Coordinate and complete project data collection which may include surveys and focus groups
• Assist with development of education and optimization materials and methods in collaboration with genetic counselors, Investigators, staff and consultants
• Assist with implementation of randomized clinical trial (RCT) for testing developed materials
• Assist with the development of a toolkit for wider distribution to clinicians and community members
• Work with community members to train, test and/or further develop materials as needed
• Attend project meetings
• Complete research tasks related to sponsored project as needed.
• Communicate with Principal Investigator, participants, and other staff members on progress and future plans

Position is funded by a sponsored research project and will be a full time, fixed term position eligible for renewal based on availability of funds.

The hourly rate range for this position is $28.31 - $35.12.
