Responsible to the Associate Director for Recruitment for representing ETSU to a diverse group of freshman and returning students; recruitment of prospective students in a specified territory; coordinating high school visitation programs and events incorporating formal and informal presentations and public speaking engagements with high school and community college counselors and advisors, administrators, students, and parents; and, supporting student retention. The Admissions Counselor serves as a front-line service provider with primary in-office student admission counseling, recruitment travel, and communication with prospective students.

This counselor position will be based in Johnson City, but will initially recruit in the Middle and West Tennessee areas. This counselor should expect a high volume of travel, particularly in the fall semester.

Bachelor's Degree

One (1) year of college admissions, sales, outreach, or student organization leadership experience. Relevant student, part-time, and temporary experience may be considered.

Valid driver's license

Availability for overnight travel and weekend work
