Position Description TMI Episcopal is seeking a full-time Upper School History and Religious Studies teacher. The position will commence in August, 2023. A strong candidate will have 2-5 years of prior teaching experience in independent schools, be familiar with the Advanced Placement curricula, be comfortable with a variety of modes of teaching, and be highly skilled at differentiating instruction. Primary Responsibilities - Teaching four sections of Upper School History (2 AP World History, 2 Modern World and one section of Religion in Global Context - Serving as an advisor to a small group of students - Fulfilling duties as assigned throughout the day - Contributing to the broader TMI community by participating in extracurricular activities to possibly include the athletic program, residential life program, and/or club programs
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in History or related field; Master’s degree in History or Education preferred - Two to five years teaching experience at the upper school level, preferably in an independent school setting Skills/Abilities - Thorough content knowledge in relevant historical eras - Knowledge of diverse teaching strategies and ability to differentiate in the classroom - Technologically savvy - Excellent written and spoken communication skills - Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle and prioritize multiple responsibilities - Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments Benefits/Compensation - Salary to be determined based on experience and qualifications. - Benefits include health insurance, dental, short/long-term disability, life insurance, PTO, and retirement plan participation. Founded in 1893, TMI Episcopal (TMI) is the flagship private school of the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas.
