POSITION SUMMARY
Position is responsible for billing and collection process, high-level of customer service and assistance with performing key functions to support compliance and segregation of duties. These functions include responsibilities for assisting students in understanding and meeting their financial obligations by performing a range of functions for students including making contact for payment, posting tuition refunds, scheduling student refund and stipend checks, offering and scheduling payment plan options, processing tuition and fee payments, and interacting with other offices to ensure the highest level of student satisfaction regarding any questions or concerns regarding students’ accounts. Preference given to hybrid candidates; fully remote candidates will be considered
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assess tuition and fee charges to student accounts. Apply federal financial aid, scholarships, grants and other non-federal aid to student accounts. High level of interaction with students and their accounts, perform detailed verification of charges and credits prior to disbursement of refunds to students. Adhere to all school policies and procedures and applicable federal and state regulations and all accrediting agencies’ standards and requirements related to student aid disbursement.
Lead collection efforts. Collect and post tuition and fee payments to students’ accounts. Post student fees that are not automated to student accounts (i.e., late payment fees, add/drop fees, replacement ID card fees, etc.). Communicate with third party agencies such as Department of Veteran Affairs and collection agencies.
Serve as primary contact for students across campuses with account related questions. Communicate with students via email and telephone to ensure timely receipt of scheduled payments. Establish repayment schedules based on school policy and students’ financial situations. Document, record, and maintain information about student communication and changes to students’ accounts in Power Campus and Campus Nexus.
Act as a lead cashier and customer service representative of the business office (accept payments, disburse checks, data entry of cash receipts).
Monitor billing holds on students’ accounts in Power Campus and CampusNexus and partner with Student Services on retention efforts. Process forms that affect students’ account ledger (e.g., add/drop forms, leave of absence forms, withdrawal forms, etc.).
Review packaging of federal and other fund sources completed by the financial aid department and determining any unmet needs.
Prepare annual tax forms for U.S. and Canadian students.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent certification required; Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience: Two+ years’ experience in accounting, bookkeeping and/or relevant work required, Experience with customer service and client communication preferred
Required Related Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Communication conflict resolution and problem-solving skills; Ability to quickly acquire proficiency with software; Intermediate Excel level; Experience with Microsoft products and Windows operating systems; Ability to follow directions and work independently; Detail-oriented with ability to work quickly, accurately, and thoroughly; Ability to professionally manage multiple tasks, competing priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in higher education environment and with Power Campus and/or CampusNexus Student Information System preferred.
