Here’s where you come in:
As the Global Insurance Manager, you will serve as a technical advisor and subject matter expert, while strategically and operationally managing a portfolio of global insurance coverages that includes D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime, Cyber, Professional Liability (MPL), Medical Malpractice, Political Risk and related specialty lines. Your key responsibilities will include program design, insurance purchasing, program implementation, claim management, and loss prevention activities related to this portfolio. You will negotiate with brokers, insurers and other providers to secure appropriate terms and conditions for World Vision while also managing those vendor relationships. Additional responsibilities include drafting and maintaining safety/risk management manuals and collateral, monitoring compliance with insurance-related policies and procures, and managing special projects.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
7-10 years in the insurance industry through any combination of working in a professional risk management capacity with a major property/casualty insurance carrier, and/or with a global insurance brokerage firm.
A thorough knowledge of multi-lines claims handling procedures in a global environment.
Work experience in an international/global context as a technical advisor, advocate and subject matter expert as either an in-house risk manager or broker for international corporations / organizations.
Demonstrated knowledge in developing strategies for successful claims (including litigated claims) handling and cost containment.
Strong technical expertise interpreting insurance coverage, analysis of risk exposures, and writing contact language relative to insurance/indemnity exposures in contracts.
Preferred Knowledge & Qualifications
Insurance broker licensing, and risk management designation such as CPCU, ARM, ARM-E, etc.
Ability to handle a high volume of work through prioritization and project management
Technical knowledge of specialty insurance coverage including but not limited to D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, Crime, Cyber, Professional Liability (MPL), Medical Malpractice, Political Risk and related coverages.
Expertise in researching, analyzing and implementing best practices related to compulsory insurance requirements, laws and regulations in multiple countries, relative to multiple lines of insurance.
Proficient in the implementation of global insurance programs for large multi-national corporations – Controlled Master Program with local underlyer policies in each country, as required.
Intermediate to advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Insurance specific education and achievement of professional designations such as ARM, CPCU, AIC and/or broker licensing is highly preferred.
Travel And/or Work Environment Requirement
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10 % of the time.
