Serve as a vital member of the Veterans Business Outreach Center and UTA Community Navigator programs to provide one-on-one technical assistance to veteran small business owners, including one-on-one assistance with U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loan, grant, and COVID-19 relief programs as well as one-on-one business consultations to disseminate and/or explain information regarding access to capital and funding opportunities, financial statement analysis and other small business growth and development initiatives.
Essential Duties:
Required to provide one-on-one technical assistance and information face-to-face, email, phone, webinar, or other effective communications, including business plan development, mentor referral, access to capital and funding opportunities and other small business resources with support from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE), Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC), University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) departments, and other small business community resource partners.
Ensures that all required loan documents are complete and accurate according to policies, procedures, and regulations. Assists in filling out loan applications including but not limited to U.S. Small Business Administration loan programs.
Assists in presenting relevant information pertaining to SBA loan programs including but not limited to webinars, workshops, meetings, and short courses.
Required to attend local and regional outreach events and act as the unit liaison with outside agencies including the SBA, SBDC, SCORE,PTAC, local EDCs, other entrepreneurial resource partners and veteran service organizations (VSOs).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in related field.
Two (2) years' experience of Small Business Administration or financial services function to include thorough knowledge of SBA 7(A), SBA 504, SBA Express Loans, Micro Loans and COVID-19 relief programs, i.e., PPP, EIDL, SVOG, RRF, etc.
Must have comprehensive knowledge of current SBA loan programs including but not limited to COVID-19 relief programs and all areas of the different loan options including documentation preparation and funding of loans of varying size and complexity.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, both oral and written
Outstanding interpersonal skills with ability to work independently, with minimal supervision while supporting loan operations, commercial lenders, and clients to complete tasks associated with loan origination and servicing of loans.
Preferred Qualifications:
US Military veteran preferred.
Experience as a small business consultant and/or startup business advisor.
Financial Services, Banking, or Accounting background is a plus.
