Reporting to the Director of Counseling, Health and Wellness, the Student Counseling Manager oversees the day-to-day functions of the Office of Counseling Services, staff , and activities, in an effort to integrate counseling services into a comprehensive student development experience. Duties for the title include but are not limited to:
Assess and analyze counseling center usage data, making recommendations to the Director regarding planning, evaluation, assessment, and marketing of counseling services.
Develop, solicit and analyze input from faculty, staff, clients, and others to improve both remote and in-person counseling services
Generate and interpret reports and other data detailing student needs on a regular basis
Participate in inter-divisional programs to increase student success and retention
Oversee all administrative and clinical supervision to City Tech employees seeking their NY State Mental Health Counseling License
Recruit licensed mental health counselors, and develop a plan to enhance the quality of mental health services provided to students through other offices on the campus
Manage and track appropriate referrals to counseling staff
Develop and implement outreach and workshops to support campus mental health campaigns
Provide individual and group counseling and mental health services to students
Organize, solicit and coordinate local, state and federal resources for students
Manage the counseling center, which provides a variety of both remote and in-person services
Prepare staff schedules, and supervise and promote professional development of counseling center faculty and staff
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor???s degree and six years??? related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
??? A Doctoral degree in Psychology to include Ph.D. and Psy.D. programs or a Master's degree in an appropriate discipline for personal or psychological counseling and a New York State license as a mental health practitioner (social work, psychology, or mental health counseling)
??? Proficient understanding of student needs and behavior in higher education systems
??? Experience with diverse populations and competence in multicultural issues and their relation to counseling college students in both an in-person and remote environment
??? Knowledge and experience with time-limited, solution-focused counseling
